16th July Stor abbor (Large Bass)

Today we were supposed to head for the beach. We left Tønsberg a tad too late, and after a while we left the main road searching for a suitable place for an installation. Time flew quickly and the sun begun to set. We ended up under a bridge at Gamle Sørlandske. The surface of the lake was constantly rippled by bass hunting for insects. The air (and probably the guts of my projector) was swarming with tiny, weird flies. That’s why I landed on an animated bass for this projection. It seemed to suit the bass lake nicely. The effect of projecting stuff just above the water gives a great mirror effect that I will explore further tomorrow (Wednesday 17).

Originally I intended to project under the small bridge. The planks was to be illuminated and animated accordingly to the frequency of the running water. I placed myself and the projector on a pallet crossed over the water. That got me electrified. So after a small shock I went for another and more safe idea.
